Marked by Abundance & Delight :: John + Mike’s Romantic Garden Wedding
And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be
marked by abundance and delight.
— Apache Wedding Blessing
John & Mike’s wedding was a long time in the making, like so many couples who made plans in 2019 and 2020. Theirs came together beautifully at the splendid Dacor Bacon House courtyard, tucked away in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, DC. During their ceremony, a moving apache wedding blessing was dedicated to the newlyweds. A few lines that stood out to me were,
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, John and Mike were married on a perfect autumn afternoon, and danced the night away!
