Persian Wedding at Woodend Sanctuary
An Intimate Wedding at a Beautiful Nature Sanctuary
N&N were married this spring at Woodend Sanctuary, a tranquil nature reserve tucked away in the forests of Maryland. Their guests joined them from around the globe for a fun-filled weekend that included a game day at Meadowbrook Local Park and welcome reception at Board Room for their friends.
Including Persian Traditions
N&N’s wedding included a Persian sofreh aghd, a traditional wedding ceremony spread where legal marriage and ceremonial traditions are exchanged. The couple entered the ceremony to the beautiful music of Clair de Lune, and after exchanging vows, exited to Signed, Sealed Delivered (I’m Yours) by Stevie Wonder.
The reception was one of the liveliest and happiest I’ve had the pleasure of attending. DJ Taba played a fantastic variety of American and Persian pop music, and instead of a cake the couple opted for a dessert spread of cake pops, mini cheesecakes, and other sugary delights. The party lasted throughout the evening and continued the next morning with a goodbye lunch for their family members at Jane E. Lawton Community Center.
The couple has requested to keep their names off the internet :)
