Sunrise Engagement Session | Romance in Washington DC
As many couples do these days, Malvika and Kushal met online while in two different countries.
They met four months later, and have since been inseparable.
As they grew close, and their friendship turned to romance, Kushal says he knew Malvika was the one when
he clicked with her in a way he never had with anyone else, and seeing her filled him with happiness.
Malvika makes him feel loved like no one else ever had.
He admires her caring nature, ambition to achieve great things, respect, resilience, and bubbliness.
“All in all, I knew she is the only one I would love to grow old with…”
Malvika says, “It began with a sense of deep friendship and mutual respect.
I knew he is the one when I genuinely started feeling calm and happy, with whom I started to feel at home, be able to be my true self, and when I no longer was thinking or looking for what else is out there.”
“It only felt natural when we focused on building something together, be it any shared goal.” — Malvika
Kushal adores Malvika’s love for him and his family, and the way she respects everyone. He can tell she cares deeply for him even without words.
He says she is ambitious and determined for success, and supports him for the same by all means.
Kushal’s proposal was unplanned, simple, short, and sweet at their house. He had a rose in his hand and went on his knee, it was just the two of them.
They describe it as “not a traditional proposal”, though they did exchange rings later on.
The couple is planning to have a formal engagement ceremony in India with the same rings.
“The feeling of being loved and connected to someone eternally, even beyond life.”
It’s easy to see their love and bond on their faces when they look into each other’s eyes.
Malvika describes Kushal as caring, affectionate, and thoughtful (he brings her flowers for even the smallest occasions),
and says he is her biggest cheerleader and is always there for her no matter what.
We met at sunrise to avoid crowds. At first, we were concerned, the forecast predicted rain and clouds.
To our delight, we were greeted with a beautiful, golden sunrise over the National Mall, and rich, blue clouds for a touch of dramatic flair.
The couple’s highest priority for the session was capturing a photograph that reflects our bonding and intimacy in a spectacular way.
They wanted to take pre-wedding portraits around Washington DC, to show how special their city is to them, and provide a sense of place to the photos’ ambiance.
Malvika’s long dress flowed flawlessly as she moved about, and the navy blue color contrasted nicely with the creamy white stone of the Lincoln Memorial.
I asked Kushal what the best thing is about being with Malvika, and he responded, “the feeling of being with someone who you know will be there with you and stand by you in all your thicks and thins no matter what. The feeling of being loved and connected to someone eternally, even beyond life.”
Malvika and Kushal will be married on May 3rd in India, a multi-day, elaborate Indian wedding with the blessings of our families, friends, and relatives.
